About this Plog
Those of you who know me will be aware that I've been wanting to record an album of live and spontaneous worship for some time!  This Plog is my motivation to sit down at the piano and get some recording happening.  I plan to post at least one session of spontaneous worship every week for the next year.  Sound ambitious?? I think so too!! But here we go....

Why Spontaneous Worship?
Don't misunderstand, I think pre-written worship songs are awesome! They help remind our hearts of the truth of God.  Their familiarity allow us to focus on worship instead of the music.  They help us express things we may not otherwise be able to put into words.  But there comes a time during encounter with God, when you just want to express your own heart in your own words.... I guess I liken it to telling your spouse that you love them.  It's very romantic to read a Shakespeare sonnet to them, but sometimes a simple "I love you" in your own words is more beautiful than the words of even a master like Shakespeare.  I believe my "I love you's" to God have the ability to move Him deeply.  I believe my simple "I love you" undoes the heart of God.   This raw intimacy is exactly what 'The Spontaneous Sessions' is all about!

About the Worship
The worship featured here is born from a desire to know Jesus more.  A desire to sit at His feet and commune with Him.  I believe that "by gazing upon the Lord, we become like him and show forth His glory".  I believe there is no substitute for cultivating an intimate relationship with Him if we want to be transformed into His likeness.  The songs here may not be fancy, they may not be polished or sophisticated, but I want to invite you into that place of intimacy and relationship as you listen to them.  The place of encounter with the Lover of your Soul.
